How these alternatives compare
Pyle 12-Inch 800W Bluetooth PA Speaker
The Pyle PPHP1244B replaces the Sound Town’s column arrays with a single 12-inch cabinet. It offers 800 watts of peak power and includes party lights, which the Sound Town lacks. This model focuses on casual outdoor parties rather than mobile DJ versatility. You give up the TWS Bluetooth pairing and DSP presets found in the Sound Town. The Pyle is lighter at 10.7 pounds, making it easier to carry for small gatherings. It suits users who want simple setup and visual effects over professional mixing controls. It lacks XLR inputs, relying on Bluetooth and AUX for connectivity. Choose this if you prioritize raw volume and light shows for casual events.
Pyle 12-Inch Battery PA Speaker with Lights
The Pyle PPHP128B also uses a single 12-inch driver but adds battery power and a included microphone. It delivers 800 watts for outdoor parties where wired mic input is essential. Unlike the Sound Town’s column design, this unit is a standard box shape. It includes party lights and FM radio, features absent in the Sound Town. You trade the Sound Town’s dual-column clarity and DSP versatility for battery-operated freedom. The weight is 12.5 pounds, slightly heavier than the single-driver Pyle but manageable. It fits users needing high volume and visual effects for outdoor use. It lacks the sophisticated mixer controls and TWS pairing of the Sound Town. Pick this for portable, self-contained party setups without external power needs.
Pyle 12-Inch Portable PA Speaker with USB
The Pyle PWMA1299A features a digital mixer and includes a microphone, similar to the Sound Town’s bundle approach. It offers 800 watts and Bluetooth, USB, and SD card connectivity. The Sound Town provides TWS pairing and DSP presets, which this Pyle model lacks. This unit is smaller, measuring 7.68 inches wide, making it more compact for practice sessions. It is ideal for small portable events where space is limited. You gain a digital mixer interface but lose the column array’s wide dispersion. It does not include party lights or FM radio found in other Pyle models. Choose this if you need a compact, all-in-one solution for small venues. It sacrifices the Sound Town’s specialized DSP and stereo pairing for simplicity.
LyxPro SPA12 12-Inch Active PA Speaker
The LyxPro SPA12 offers XLR connectivity, which the Sound Town also provides, but in a single 12-inch cabinet. It includes Bluetooth, USB, and SD card inputs for versatile media playback. Unlike the Sound Town’s column arrays, this unit uses a traditional speaker design. It is lighter and more compact, weighing less than the dual-speaker Sound Town setup. The LyxPro lacks TWS pairing and DSP presets, focusing on basic wired and wireless input options. It suits musicians needing simple connectivity for live performances. You give up the Sound Town’s specialized mixer and microphone bundle. This model is best for users who prioritize XLR inputs and portability over advanced features. It is a straightforward option for basic live sound reinforcement.
EXOTON Dual 12-Inch 10-Channel PA System
The EXOTON MX-P12 provides a 10-channel mixer and dual 12-inch speakers, offering more mixing channels than the Sound Town’s built-in 2-channel mixer. It is designed for large events requiring extensive input options. However, it weighs 75 pounds, significantly heavier than the Sound Town’s portable column system. You gain professional mixing capabilities but sacrifice portability and ease of setup. The EXOTON lacks the Sound Town’s TWS pairing and DSP presets. It is not suitable for mobile DJs needing quick transport. Choose this if you need a powerful, stationary system for large venues. It fits users who prioritize channel count and raw power over compact design. It is a heavy-duty option for fixed installations or large-scale events.
Pyle Dual 12-Inch Cabinet PA Speaker
The Pyle PADH212.5 features dual 12-inch drivers and 1600 watts of peak power, offering significantly more raw power than the Sound Town. It is built for durable, high-volume outdoor events. Unlike the Sound Town’s column arrays, this unit uses a traditional cabinet design. It lacks Bluetooth, digital mixer controls, and DSP presets found in the Sound Town. It relies on wired connections for reliability in large outdoor settings. The Pyle is heavier and less portable, suited for users who do not need frequent transport. You gain power and durability but lose the Sound Town’s versatility and wireless features. Pick this if you need a heavy-duty speaker for large gatherings. It is ideal for users prioritizing volume and build quality over advanced connectivity.
