6 Best Alternatives to the Rabjen 21-Inch DJ Mixer Controller (2026)

How these alternatives compare

Rabjen 35-Inch DJ Mixer Backpack

The Rabjen 35-Inch DJ Mixer Backpack expands your capacity significantly. It accommodates mixers up to 35 inches, whereas the original model is limited to 21-inch gear. This makes it suitable for larger Pioneer or Denon setups that do not fit the smaller Rabjen case. Both bags share the same model number R01501 and black color. You gain space for bigger equipment but lose the compact profile ideal for smaller club gigs. If you transport wide-format controllers, this larger Rabjen option provides the necessary interior volume. The scratch-resistant interior remains a key feature for protecting your audio gear during heavy transport.

Gator G-Club 19-Inch DJ Messenger Bag

The Gator G-Club 19-Inch DJ Messenger Bag shifts from a backpack to a messenger style. It fits 19-inch controllers, which is smaller than the 21-inch capacity of the original Rabjen bag. The dimensions are 23 inches long, 17 inches high, and 7.5 inches wide. Weighing only 2.2 pounds, it is lighter than the original. This bag lacks laptop storage, so you must carry your computer separately. It is designed for rugged club use with high-visibility interiors. If you prefer a shoulder strap over backpack straps and use smaller gear, this Gator case offers a different carrying experience with a focus on durability and visibility.

Headliner Pro-Fit Case for Pioneer DDJ-REV7

The Headliner Pro-Fit Case is a custom-fit solution for the Pioneer DDJ-REV7. It measures 31 inches long, 18 inches wide, and 3.7 inches high. At just 1 pound, it is significantly lighter than the original Rabjen backpack. This case sacrifices the multi-compartment organization and laptop storage found in the Rabjen bag. It provides basic protection without extra bulk. You should choose this option if you only need to transport the DDJ-REV7 and prioritize minimal weight. It does not fit the larger 21-inch controllers or other mixer brands. This is a specialized case for a specific device rather than a general-purpose travel bag.

Odyssey Pioneer DJ RMX-1000 Case

The Odyssey Pioneer DJ RMX-1000 Case is built specifically for that mixer model. Its dimensions are 13 inches long, 16.5 inches wide, and 6 inches high. This is a single-unit fit that prioritizes environmental protection over versatility. It does not offer the spacious interior or laptop compartment of the original Rabjen backpack. You should pick this case if you exclusively use the RMX-1000 and need robust protection against dust or wet conditions. It lacks the adjustable straps and multiple storage zones of the Rabjen design. This is a dedicated protective shell for a specific piece of hardware rather than a mobile DJ kit.

Harmony Audio 19 Inch Rack-Mount Case

The Harmony Audio 19-Inch Rack-Mount Case offers a rigid flight case design. It provides 4U of space and measures 22 inches long, 11 inches wide, and 8 inches high. This case is designed for rack-mounting up to four DMX units. It differs from the original Rabjen backpack by lacking portability features like backpack straps. You gain stackable protection but lose the ability to carry the case on your back. It is ideal for users who prioritize rigid rack-mount protection over portable designs. This case does not fit standard 21-inch DJ mixers or laptops. It serves a different purpose for users who need secure, stationary storage for multiple units.

Odyssey 12-Inch DJ Mixer Case

The Odyssey 12-Inch DJ Mixer Case is designed for smaller controllers. It measures 22.1 inches wide, 16.2 inches high, and 10 inches long. Weighing 20.1 pounds, it is much heavier than the original Rabjen backpack. It provides a secure fit for 12-inch gear, which is smaller than the 21-inch capacity of the Rabjen bag. You sacrifice portability and laptop storage for maximum protection. This case is suitable for DJs who prioritize protection over ease of transport. It does not offer the scratch-resistant interior organization or adjustable straps of the Rabjen model. If you move 12-inch mixers and need rugged durability, this heavy-duty case is the appropriate choice.
